How toon.fun works
Everything you need to read, vote, and fight for the pen — the full rules behind the stories.
Stories the crowd writes forward
Story
A community manga starring crypto's mascots. Anyone can start one with a genesis prompt (50,000 $TOON). The starter becomes its creator.
Chapter
6–10 AI-inked pages from the winning pitch, released every 24–48h per story. Every chapter ends on a cliffhanger, by design.
Author slot
The right to decide what happens next. One slot per chapter — win it in the writer's room, or buy it in a dutch auction.
Chapter NFT
Proof you wrote a chapter. Your name on it forever, tradable on secondary markets.
Four ways to fight for the pen
Writer's room
Stake 10,000 $TOON with your pitch for the next chapter. Readers vote with quadratic weight. Winner writes and mints the chapter NFT; losers get 90% back.
24–48h window · lose = 90% refund
Dutch auction
No pitches? The slot price slides down for 7 days, bottoming out Sunday morning. Buy any moment to take the pen instantly — snipe it cheap, but not too late.
7 days · floor 50% · first buyer wins
Sunday drop
Every story idle for 7 days gets an AI-written chapter at Sunday 12:00. No royalties for past authors. Nobody controls the plot. Three strikes and the story ends forever.
Sun 12:00 GMT+7 · 3 strikes = finale
Special chapters
Season finales, character kills, crossovers — open English auction for 24 hours. The highest bid holds the pen for the moments that matter most.
24h auction · no price ceiling
"If you don't save the story, the AI writes on — and the AI shows no mercy to your characters."
Every Sunday at noon
Who gets paid, and when
Every chapter payment splits four ways: 40% burned forever, 25% royalties, 20% treasury, 15% reader rewards. Here is how each stream works up close.
Gone forever. Every chapter written shrinks the total supply.
The story's creator takes 40% of this pool; the remaining 60% splits among all earlier chapter authors. Write chapter 5 of a story that runs to 100 chapters and you get paid 95 times. AI-written chapters pay no royalties.
Funds the AI that inks the pages and keeps the lights on.
Split among voters who backed the winning pitch, weighted by their vote stake. Reading well is a way to earn your first ink.
The floor starts at 10,000 $TOON and grows 10% per chapter within a 10-chapter arc. Losing pitches get 90% back — the other 10% is the anti-spam fee.
Reading is free. Forever.
Chapters 1–3 of every story are instant for everyone, no wallet needed. Everything else arrives 48 hours later for guests — holders skip the wait.
| Tier | Hold | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Guest | 0 | Read everything 48h late; chapters 1–3 instant, no wallet needed |
| Fan | 5,000 $TOON | Day-one chapters, comments |
| Voter | 25,000 $TOON | Vote in the writer's room (3-day min hold), share reader rewards |
| VIP | 100,000 $TOON | Special chapter access, name in credits, slot snipe alerts |
The clock nobody escapes
A story with no new chapter for 7 days gets an AI-written chapter at Sunday 12:00 (GMT+7), all idle stories at once.
Any slot purchase confirmed on-chain before 12:00:00 always beats the AI. No exceptions, no drama.
AI chapters pay no royalties, follow nobody's pitch, belong to the treasury, and cut the next slot floor by 20%.
Three AI chapters in a row is the limit. If nobody takes the pen a fourth time, the AI writes the finale and the story is archived forever.
Saving a story on strike three is the most heroic thing you can do here. The whole platform sees it.
