The Gecko Who Minted a Crown
1 turns · 10 pages of canon
Describe the characters in your story: Gex (male) — a skinny lime-green gecko wearing an oversized purple hoodie, fingerless gloves and a cheap plastic crown from a fast-food promotion. His phone is held together with tape, and he keeps a tiny hardware wallet tied around his neck. He begins the story loud, confident and convinced that he understands every market cycle. By the final page his crown is melted on one side, his hoodie is covered in ash and his phone screen shows a single red line. Momo (female) — a fluffy cream-coloured shiba inu wearing mirrored sunglasses and a racing jacket covered in logos of forgotten meme coins. She carries three phones, speaks almost entirely in slogans and laughs whenever prices fall. Nobody knows whether she is rich or completely broke. The Dev (no fixed gender, never shown directly) — a tall, distorted figure visible only through anonymous profile pictures, reflections in dark screens or a silhouette behind rows of computer monitors. Their face is never revealed. Characters when changing environment, appearance, clothing: The story takes place during a single night. It begins inside an underground crypto launch party, moves through an abandoned data centre and ends beneath a giant digital billboard above the city. As the night continues, the building grows hotter and the power becomes unstable: Gex's plastic crown begins to warp, Momo's sunglasses lose one lens, and the colourful party lights are gradually replaced by the red glow of liquidation alerts. Detailed content of your story: An underground launch party has been built inside an abandoned bank vault. Old deposit boxes have been converted into drink counters, while broken ATM screens flash BUY THE DIP above tables covered with energy drinks and plastic gold coins. A countdown is running on every wall. Gex is standing near the stage, refreshing his phone, waiting for a new meme coin called KINGGECKO to launch. He has spent all week telling everyone that this will be the coin that changes his life. The logo is his own face wearing a crown. Momo pushes through the crowd and tells him the token contract has already appeared online. Someone has bought before the official launch. Then another wallet buys. Then twenty more. The price begins climbing while the countdown still shows forty seconds. Gex panics and connects his hardware wallet. Around him, guests stop dancing. Phones rise into the air. Everyone begins buying at once, shouting that they are early even though nobody knows who created the contract. The vault doors suddenly lock. All the music cuts out. On the largest screen, the anonymous Dev changes their profile picture to a black square. Behind the stage, a distorted shadow stretches across the wall as the price chart shoots upward. Every phone in the room vibrates at exactly the same moment. Gex stands beneath the countdown, sweating, crown bending from the heat, with his thumb hovering above the CONFIRM button. Momo is screaming at him to buy before the next candle. Hundreds of strangers are watching the same chart, waiting for someone else to move first. End the opening exactly there — on Gex's thumb above the CONFIRM button, transaction still unsigned. Do not reveal whether the token is real. Do not show who controls the contract. Do not resolve the decision.
